Sodbusters, which has been named the best event of Yuba-Sutter, is back for it's country-western themed shin-dig, incredible steak dinner, silent and live auctions, mechanical bull riding and dancing til midnight to the fantastic tunes of Left of Centre.

This is the Rotary Club of Marysville's ONLY fundraiser of the year, the money raised goes to support many important charities and community needs. The proceeds are split between the Rotary Club of Marysville Foundation for use in many community projects and a special beneficiary each year. This year, the beneficiary of Sodbusters is SoYouCan - the South Yuba County Action Network*.

*SoYouCan is a local nonprofit organization that has orchestrated a toy and food drive for the past decade, with the amazing assistance of an army of volunteers who sort, package and deliver holiday bundles to families in need. Last year, the Christmas bundles included two age-appropriate gifts per child and one board game as a gift for the entire family. In addition to the presents, each child received a stocking filled with candy, snacks, age-appropriate toys and necessities, such as toothpaste, socks and a blanket.

Each family also received a box full of food – including a turkey and ham, a 10-pound bag of potatoes, stuffing, canned vegetables, gravy and desserts. This delivery ensures they have food for not only their holiday dinner, but for days after, as well.

Last year during its 10th annual SoYouCan Christmas Giveaway, the non-profit gave out more than 2,000 gifts to 265 families in need with 1,047 kids.

Families and children are pre-determined to receive packages based on recommendations from local educators, pastors, first responders and other community based representatives.
